175 Why you should stop using retinol and healthy anti-aging ingredients to look for.

Today, we're talking about an ingredient that you probably may have used yourself, you're currently using, or you've heard a lot about it. It's very, very common in the anti aging world. And that is retinol. Retinol is a very powerful form of the synthetic vitamin A. It also looks like retinol palmitate on an ingredient label, and it's often recommended by dermatologists.

However, there are some pretty harmful effects of retinol.
First of all, Retinol works through irritation. If you've ever used it before, you may have gotten redness on your face or wherever you're putting it, and flaking. Those are really symptoms of how retinol causes this irritation. It causes the cells to divide and grow and die more rapidly, which increases cell turnover. That cell turnable turnover is where you're getting that anti-aging effect. There's new cells that are coming out.

It sounds wonderful, right? Like cell regeneration and new cells that are going to make you look younger. However, retinol does have some pretty serious health impacts that have been demonstrated.

  • It creates inflammation.

  • It's rated and 9 out of 10 on the toxicity scale.

  • Data has indicated the retinol speeds the development of tumors and lesions on sun exposed skin.

  • Retinol is highly regulated in Europe and Canada.

  • The cosmetic database links it with cancer, developmental and reproductive toxicity, cellular level changes and organ system toxicity.

If you're using retinol right now and you didn't know that, first of all, it's not your fault. It was likely recommended by a doctor or a friend who had the best intentions because it works. Fortunately there are some safer ingredients that do very similar things to retinol and so you don't need to expose yourselves to toxic retinol when there are other safe ingredients that can have those wonderful effects that you would get from retinol. You can get that retinol glow without the harmful toxic retinol through ingredients and those ingredients to look for are:

  • Azelaic acid

  • Bakuchiol

  • Vitamin C

  • Propanediol

So those are ingredients to look for. And my favorite new products are Crunchi Daylight and Nightlight Advanced. Daylight and Nightlight are awesome and now there's an advanced version of these products and they are even more anti-aging.
